To dialogue means to find meaning between two people. Dialogue skills are the conscious polishing of your own thinking - learning to suspend judgments and assumptions so you can really hear and understand what another is communicating. It is also learning to find common ground. How to ask questions so that you learn more about the other person. How to listen to the other, to yourself and to your moral compass. Dialogue believes in the effectiveness of gradual change and in the value of a person of integrity. Coupled with the Earth Charter, these dialogue skills expand from the individual to the whole community of life.
